1. Bookings

All Bookings at Penwyth House are subject to these Terms.

No Booking shall be treated as confirmed until the details and/or payment/deposit described in this paragraph have been provided.

  • 50% deposit will be taken if booked 30 days or more prior to the arrival date.
  • 100% of the booking will be taken if the booking is within 30 days of your arrival date.
  • Full balance must be paid 30 days prior to the arrival date.
  • If full balance payment is not paid within 48 hours, the booking will be cancelled and any monies paid to date will be forfeited.

2. Cancellation Terms

In the unfortunate instance that a booking needs to be cancelled, the following policy applies:

  • If a booking is cancelled over 30 days before arrival date the deposit will be returned. *
  • If a booking has been cancelled over 30 days before arrival date £10.00 will be deducted from the returned deposit to cover the time involved in the booking process and the fees charged by our bank for the credit/debit card used on booking.
  • If a booking is cancelled less than 30 days before arrival date the total amount will be forfeited.
  • In the case of a no show the full booking cost will be charged.

* Please note once a refund has been processed it may take up to 7 working days to appear in your account.

3. COVID-19 Cancellation

We will refund your booking in full should we go into another full national lockdown only.

4. Check-in/ Check-out

Guests may check-in at any time from 3:30 p.m. on the scheduled day of arrival. All rooms that have been secured by credit/debit card or prepaid at the time of booking will be held until 11:59pm on the scheduled day of arrival unless otherwise agreed directly with Penwyth House.

On the day of departure, we kindly ask all guests to vacate their rooms by 10a.m.  Late check-out after this time is not currently available and we reserve the right to charge an additional £30.00 per hour for each room not vacated by 11a.m.

5. Payment

We accept the following methods of payment:

(a) credit cards: American Express, MasterCard/Diners Club, Visa;

(b) debit cards: Visa/Delta, Visa/Electron and Maestro.

(c) BACS payment to: Mark Woods, Lloyds Bank, sort code: 30-94-81 account no:01319723

6. Accessibility

When you book, please let us know if any arrangements are required such as dietary needs, food allergies or specific room locations. We’ll try our best to make these happen, but they can’t be guaranteed.

7. Parking

Penwyth House is situated in a very small village with free on street parking. The parking is based on a first come first served basis and we cannot guarantee that you may not be able to park outside the property. We donate to the church and so guests are able to park free of charge in an off street car park that is a two minute walk from Penwyth House.

8. Guest Behaviour

Guests are requested to conduct themselves appropriately at all times. Penwyth House operates a zero tolerance policy on racist or homophobic behaviour that is directed at our staff or other guests. We reserve the right to refuse accommodation or remove you and members of your party from Penwyth House if, in our reasonable opinion, we consider this provision to have been breached. Where this is the case shall have no obligation to refund you for lost accommodation, other services or any other loss or expense incurred.

9. Smoking

In accordance with legislation, Penwyth House is a smoke-free premises. You are able to smoke in the garden. Vaporisers are also not allowed to be used within the property.

10. Children and visitors

We welcome guests aged 16 and over. Guests under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Our Bed and Breakfast is designed as a primarily adult environment.

11. Pets

No pets allowed.

12. Facilities, services and maintenance

We do our best to keep everything running smoothly but occasionally something might go awry. Therefore, we don’t accept liability if a facility is out of action  but we will endeavour to fix any issue as fast as possible. As we are open all year round, you may find there is necessary maintenance, development or refurbishment work taking place during your visit. We will use reasonable endeavours to keep noise and inconvenience to a minimum. If such work is happening during your stay, this will not constitute a reason for cancellation and/or refund and standard cancellation terms will apply.

13. Force Majeure

Penwyth House accepts no liability and will not pay any compensation where the performance of its obligations is prevented or affected directly or indirectly by or as a result of force majeure or any circumstances beyond its reasonable control including, but not limited to, fire, flood, earthquake, extreme adverse weather conditions, natural disasters, pandemics, epidemics, other acts of God, acts of terrorism, fire or failure of electric power, gas, water, or other utility service, plant machinery, computers, vehicles or any collapse of building structures.
